SPECIFIC INFORMATION FOR PACERS
Pacers are ‘ accompagnateurs’, only the solo 152km racers can have a pacer.
The pacer can join their racer on any chosen part of the race as from Pleynet/Les 7 Laux and leave their runner where they choose. The pacer must joint and leave their runner at a snack stop.
The pacer will have a bib, access to the snack stops and the meal at the arrival.
They are not ranked, and are not entitled to the registration’s gift at the departure the arrival pack.
Their mission is to accompany the runner, reassure them, encourage them and therefore help them overcome Aiguebelle, without carrying their things, pull or push the runner.

Amount of reimbursement:
- Before the 30th of June, 90% reimbursed
- Before the 31th of July, 50% reimbursed
- After the 1st of August, no reimbursement possible
INSURANCE
Mandatory individual accident insurance (pacer included)
To participate in L’Échappée Belle, each runner must be covered by a valid individual accident insurance policy covering at least mountain search and rescue costs, rescue/evacuation costs, the healthcare costs and consequences of a bodily accident that occurred during the event.
This insurance is separate from the organization’s liability insurance.
The choice of insurer is entirely free. Each participant must check that their current contract with their insurance company (and/or, if they are licensed, with the insurance company of the Federation where they hold this license) covers the practice of trail/ ultra-trail running.trail in the mountains, in competitions and, if necessary, take out adequate individual accident insurance.
A supporting document may be requested at the latest when collecting the race number. For the sending of bibs by post, the proof may also be requested electronically after the bib has been handed over. In the absence of valid proof, the bib will not be given or may be invalidated.
For your information only, here are some solutions that may be considered by the participants, without being mandatory or exclusive:

These examples are communicated without any particular recommendation. Participants may subscribe to any other organization of their choice, provided that the required guarantees are properly covered.
Example of a concrete case: during a helicopter landing under the orders of the medical officer and the emergency service, you will be charged for the helicopter and rescue costs related to our DPS (first aid system). The average cost of a rescue is about 3,500 euros. A twin-engine helicopter flight costs approximately 65 euros excluding tax per minute. In the event of an individual non-belay accident, these costs will be borne by you in full.
